LG Drive will not show up, laser sounds stuck

Hello,
I have a GP08NU20 Portable Super Multi Drive not will not power up successfully and is not detected. What should I do: Should I replace the USB cable or drive?

I would say the drive is the issue.

a lot of the time cd-rom drive one post right if the cd fell out of the tray. if you have a small think tool most drives have an eject button on the front of the drive. you can try and open the tray and se if there a disk that someone left inside. if they did it might be hard to open or the disk may be scratched.
