Help with bad driver.

I download one of those programs that is supposed to update your system drivers. Shortly, thereafter my computer hung up. I rebooted but the computer hangs up after the bios. All I get is a blinking curser with a black screen. I tried the windows repair disk. I tried the fixboot exe but the problem is still there. The computer is reading my hard drive so I think the problem my be a corrupt chipset software driver. I think the culprit is that program. Is there anything that can be done. The system is windows xp. The motherboard is Intel DG41RQ.

  1. Welcome to Tom's Forums! :)

If you can boot into Safe Mode then run System Restore prior to "one of those programs" screwing-up your PC.

In the future Intel has it's own Updater

Too that "one of those programs" could have installed a virus - Q what's the App?
