VGA to HDMI converter settings?

Hello,
I just got a vga to hdmi converter box, but i can't seem to make it work. I can see the microsoft bar at the bottom of the tv screen when the laptop first boots up, then once windows starts, the tv goes black and it goes back to the laptop. Is there a setting I'm missing?

try checking your display settings? I'm not fully sure but you might want to check that you have extended your desktop to the TV etc. Maybe check your cables as well. There are quite a few settings under your display to settle. I had issues plugging in my laptop to the TV before as well.
