How to check my system audio driver and graphic drivers

I can't hear any sound from my system. When i try to open "Volume Control" from the Task bar: I got a message saying there is no mixer device available on this system. I have installed Windows XP with a P4(HT) processor (2.66Ghz): INTEL Motherboard (D845 GVSR). When I check the driver in the "Device Manager" it's enabled and working properly: but still no sound from the system.

RUN services.msc - Scroll down to Windows Audio Service, set to automatic and start the service. This will install mixer device.
