Ghosting on new monitor

I have a problem, i just went out and bought an asus 25.5in 1920-1200 monitor and in all games, when i walk, a shadow or line goes with me that is lighter on one side. i think its called ghosting. In fear 2, the walls have blotches of purple and green. What is the problem, did i get a crappy monitor?
