Phenom II X4 940 or 945???

I just got the Asus mobo [link below] and I'm wondering which CPU is the better deal.

The Phenom II X4 945 has a lower TDP of 95W, which will run cooler, which is probably what you'd want.

The 940 is an AM2+ CPU, the 945 is AM3. As Lmeow mentioned it also runs cooler and uses less power. Big win for the 945.

It is, he was saying you need the 945 if your using DDR3.

+1 for the 945.

DDR3 doesn't really apply to this build since the motherboard linked to uses DDR2 RAM.

I forgot to mention that I'll be using my old DDR2 ram...
