Well, SURE!!! If you are "well to do" the 930 (NOT 920) is definately the way to go! It clocks very nicely and it will run circles around the AMD BLACK QUAD ... BUT ...

Keep in mind that the GPU is (by far) the most important component in a gamer build. If budget tradoffs are required, you would do much better with a 5870, or even a 59xx (if can be found) than to step up to the Socket 1366.

The meanest rig you could build (without just throwing $$$ away) would be an i7-930 with a Hyper 212 (or Zahlman) cooler .. 6GB (CAS7) RipJaws DDR3 and ONE 5970 (or two 5870s) ... This will "PEG" your fps in hi-rez with all details/AA switched "ON".

And ... just to cover the bases ... Prolly the most popular, main-stream INTEL gaming build is ...

Latest Gigabyte (or Asus) Socket 1156 mobo (with USB3 and SATA-III 6.0) ... 8x8 SLI...

Intel Core i5-750 (fully clocked) with CoolerMaster Hyper 212 cooler and Arctic Silver MX-2 Thermal Paste ...

4GB RipJaws (CAS7) DDR3 2x2GB dual channel kit ...

Saphire Radeon 5870 (or 5850) 1GB ...

One Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB 7200RPM or WD Caviar Black (same specs).

SAMSUNG DVDR

Coolermaster HAF-922 case (HAF 932 "full tower" for socket 1366)

Corsair 650W SLI ready (80 PLUS) PSU . ..

************************************

I have seen a LOT of these. ... "best value" INTEL Game Rigs.
