Hello All,

I bought a Pentium 4 551 3,4 Ghz 1M/800 QQ62ES Prescott 64bt and tried to use in my Dell GX280 System, but it doesn't work.
Doesn't Dell support this kind of processor (engineering sample)

Thanks for all available Help !

Well, that's a very difficult question for my knowledge and unfortunately I don't know the answer.

Maybe is for architecture or compatibility with the other component, but like I say, I don't know the answer to that.

Most pc manufacturers limit processor support thru the bios. Even thou the processor should work, the id isn't in the 'acceptible' list. Some PC makers even limit what harddrives you can install... you'd think they don't want repeat customers they way some threat theirs.
