Hi,

I have recently purchased an XFX HD 7850(single fan). I switched out the heat sink for an "Arctic Cooling Accelero TWIN TURBO II". Since then my gpu temps have been around 53 degrees at load (down from 67 degrees on stock heatsink). With these temps I want to overclock my card. Here are its stock settings:

Clock 860 MHz
Mem 1200 MHz
Voltage 1.138v

I would like to achieve an OC of:
Clock 1000 MHz
Mem 1300 MHz

To achieve stability at this level I have to increase the voltage to around 1.1681. Temps at this voltage stay under 59 degrees on load.

My question is, what are the effects of increasing voltage to this level? eg. will it dramatically degrease GPU life?

Thanks :)

the twin turbo is a brilliant cooler!!! (as you have realised)

any overvolting will decrease GPU life, however an increase that small will have such a small affect that your card will be useless for gaming before that voltage increase damages the card

Thanks for the reply, Yeh I am loving the cooler :) Hopefully I can get a decent life out of this GPU with that voltage
