Max component density

i wanna know what maximum density mean in computers.

this is my motherboard.

usually when talking about rams, the density means the size of a single ram module...
but then again that website seems to disagree, says max density is 1024, mobo has two slots with max 2gb each for 4 gb total... so beats me :/

maybe it refers to the size of a single memory chip used in those modules...

edit even so it's a bit wierd, it's just a plain number with no units

hmm.
but can this be maximum graphic memory (video card) . like maximum 1024 mb of graphic card only i could install in my mobo.

i think this because my motherboard manufacturer asus have clearly said my mobo support 4 gb ram. and this maximum density could be my video card memory.

memory on graphics card is completely separate, it can't mean that....

hmm,
but there got to be limitation on the graphic card with higher memory say , more than 1024 preventing installation on old mobo..
