Clearing the CMOS usually does the trick and restores your USB port to default.
Now, some boards by default turn off USB support when you clear the CMOS, it's a stupid way to do things, but my old DFI 3200CFX board did this(other than it was an awesome board). I keep an old cheap PS2 keyboard around for times like this, so I could get back into the BIOS and turn the friggin USB keyboard and mouse support back on after a BIOS reset.
