Solution
Unlike mechanical drives (HDDs), SSDs come in just one form factor (same as SATA 2.5-inch laptop HDD), standardised for both desktop and laptops. To fit one onto a dekstop, you can screw it in a 2.5" bay (if your case has one) or use an adapter that usually comes packaged with a SSD. To fit one onto a laptop, simply replace the HDD with a SSD.
