If u starting afresh w/o any DDR2 on hand why not go for a DDR3 platform?

What do you want from us?

I recommend that you go this way:

- i5-750
- 1156 Motherboard
- 4GB DDR3 1333MHz
- Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit OEM
- HD5xxx card (HD5770, HD5850 or HD5870)
- Corsair TX750W
- WD 1TB Black (main drive; optional WD Green for storage)

A small difference in price would give a HUGE value increase and extend the life of your gaming system.

It's up to you of course, but check out some benchmarks and don't forget DX11 is just starting and the current you picked doesn't support it. The system I picked should play games nicely for a long time. Buy a Crossfire motherboard so you can add a second card in the future if needed.

Photon's build, specifically CPU and graphics card is much better and I would +1 it.

Probably. Especially if you go for the 5850 or higher. The 5770 is pretty similar in performance to the GTX260. Altho it's power requirements are lower so you can get a less powerful PSU to crossfire them, compared to 260s.

Let me know how a brand new build handles GTA. I've yet to see a machine that can reliably bang out 60+ maxed out at a decent resolution.

Friend of mine has an i7 920, and two 260's, his framerates are never predictable on that game.

i got my build today! it is Core i5 2.66 ghz, 4 gb ddr 3 , gtx 285 1gb video card, 80 gb hdd ( i dont need much hdd cuz i have like 2 750 gb external hdd). it handle Crisis at max setting with fps around 40-50, lowest i ever see is 34 fps so it really good , GTA 4 is better 50-60, never drop frame rate! i build this one around 800 buks! got some stuff from friends so the price is low!
