Reconnecting a laptop to a tv

Hello,
I connected my laptop to my tv and got the setup to match and work right. Afterwards I had to move everything around so I disconnected the rgb monitor cable from the laptop, but not the tv, and when I plugged it back in and tried to setup it back up but the tv remains blank. When I turn the computer on I can see the loading screen on the tv, but right before the "Welcome" page its blank and stays that way. The tv screen gives a red message that says something about the pc output signal needing to be changed, but I changed that too. I have tried everything and nothing has worked please help!!

Try to change the resolution on the laptop, make sure you are pressing Fn +F4 to let the laptop know you are using an external monitor as well.
