Umm hate to break it to ya but that is not a GTA 4 killer. It is badly coded for the PC and even high clocked quad core with Crossfire/SLI can run poorly in places.

Sorry mate, but its gonna be really, really hard to find a PC running GTA great at all times.

To me, the game sounds worse than Crysis, but not because it graphicly intensive, as much as because its coded like crap.

I wouldn't advice you to go out and buy a Quad to play GTA, if it helps at all, it only helps a little.

Just live with the tiny lag, your system should be ok, playing most of the time.

Depends what your resolution is as well. According to the ingame benchmark I get 60fps, and when I run fraps I get I think it was around 40-50fps. My resolution is 1280x1024 tho. My hardware is AMD Phenom II X4 955, ATI Radeon HD 4890 and 4GB 1333mhz RAM. And I've got most of the settings to high or very high. The first thing to do to remove lag is get a quad core.

Also make sure you have the latest patch for the game.

Just goes to show. I run an 8800GTX at 1680x1050, I get 45 fps in the bench. Your 4890 should be getting a lot more that 15 fps more than my 4 year old card :)
