Hello all,

i'll be ordering an i7-980X this week and would like opinions on the best heatsink to use on the cpu. Keep in mind that i will be overclocking (not too high from stock - maybe to around 4Ghz). I'll also be using Rampage III mobo if thats any additional information. But pretty much i'm looking for the fan which will keep my cpu as cool as possible.

as said above the 980X had a specially-designed stock cooler that's up to the job of cooling the chip, but you can't beat after-market cooling.

if you can afford the 980X then I'm sure you can stretch to a cooler as well, but it's always worth having a look at some reviews and tests to see what performs well.

Yeah that article is very good for your decision and after reading I think the stock cooler is good enough. Anyway you can always try it with the stock first and see temperatures etc. and then decide to buy an after-market one.
