Does this Compaq case fit this type of motherboard?

Hi everyone!

A friend of mine was throwing out his pc and a few of my friends and I divided the working parts amongst ourselves. One of the parts that I ended up with was the case.
It is a Compaq Presario SR2163WM. I understand that it is a small case, but I just want to make sure that it fits a Micro ATX Motherboard.
Also, any suggestions on what I should put in it? I want to make a cheaply priced computer, but one that can still game.

Thanks!

  1. Presario SR2163WM uses a standard Micro ATX size form factor, 9.6" x 9.6" What total budget are you working with?
    Socket 1156 motherboard: BIOSTAR TH55B $90 and Core i3-530 $120
    Socket AM3 motherboard: BIOSTAR A785G3 $60 and Athlon II X3 440 $75
  2. Im looking at maybe a $300-$400 computer. If it could be even less value but still play games like Modern Warfare 2 than that would be great!
Would you happen to know if it fits a normal sized power supply?
    Sorry for the late reply.
  3. Not a problem. Your case fits a standard size ATX power supply.
You should be able to re-use the Sata HDD and DVD drive.
Depending on the prices you can find a $400 that does really well with CoD:MW2 shouldn't be too difficult.
Athlon II X3 440 / 785G MB / 2GB RAM / HD 5750 with your HDD and DVD should be a good start.
  4. i stuck an microatx core 2 duo mobo in a similar case :)
