PCIe 3.0???

Ok so there is a lot of buzz about pci-e 3.0? I am planning on buying the EVGA X58 Classified 3 way SLI motherboard and I am planning on getting the new Geforce 300 or 400 series (whatever they name it) cards to put in this motherboard. Will these cards be for pci-e 3.0 or also for the 2.1 that this motherboard has.

Second if they do fit into a Pci-e x16 2.0 slot...will i see a huge decrease in performance from the cards? Any and all help is greatly appreciated thank you.

PCI-E2.0x16 only bottlenecks extreme SSD setups; you'll be fine graphics-wise.

The final specs for 3.0 haven't even been released yet, so you won't have to worry about any impact for a while. Also, 3.0 is backward compatible.

Thank you both for the replies@ A week ago i spent 900 on my watercooling and i havn't even bought the board and i was going to this week and than i saw the pcie 3.0 and was like WHAT!
