Mixture of different speed of ram will affect?

Hello, i currently own the ASUS G73JH with 2x2GB ram inside. Am wondering if i can upgrade 2x4gb to make it 12gb? And will different speed of DDR3 affect the system? Example mix of 1066 with 1333mhz?

In a mixed configuration, the effective ram gets reduced to the speed of the slowest ram.. i.e. in your case, if you go ahead with the upgrade, all the ram modules will work at 1066 MHz speed.. It won't cause any stability issues though provided, they are matched in terms of voltage and also CAS timings to some extent.. But first make sure you need it and that the ram modules are compatible with your board..
