Intel Core i7-860S Lynnfield 2.53GHz

The reason for the terrible price is that it is not meant for retail, it is meant for the big manufacturers that already have cooling solutions developed for 82W TDP. This allows them to use the old heatsinks while still getting to advertise an i7 860 (S). The chip is nothing special, you could underclock/volt much better, and the price is outrageous due to low quantities/etc.

If i go 860 this week i'll just hope MC still has them for $199

My only holdup so far is making sure the SATA 6GB/s won't bottleneck my Single ATI 5770 's PCI-e buss path!
I'm thinking of pairing the 860 up with Gigabyte P55A UD3P
