I3 540 work with a GIGABYTE GA-P55-USB3?

Will the i3 540 work with the GIGABYTE GA-P55-USB3?? It says it works with the i5 and i7 and it doesnt even say it will work with i3, and if it wouldnt work with the i3 then why would it work with all i5s? it should says i5 quad cores... and it doesnt have any VGA DVI or HDMI ports but that doesnt matter... im going to be buying a graphics card with it. I want this motherboard because i want USB 3.0 and i want the upgradablility of the LGA 1156.
