EVGA X58 SLI pc build

Hello, I'm looking to pc build in the 1500 to 2000 range. I'll be running Adobe photoshop and Poser 8 programs mostly. Right now I'm starting off with the EVGA X58 SLI and Intel i7 920 but don't no where to go from there. Worried about compatibility issues, best Video card or cards, heat problems and case size. Any advice would be awesome!
