ATX and uATX/mATX motherboard and case

Hello,
I want to know what is Convertible Mini Tower , is it because it can support ATX and mATX motherboard ?
I have a hp compaq dc7100 convertible mini tower

What is a chassis ?
By the way i think my case its quite big , maybe it can fit an ATX ?

  1. Do you have the old mobo, check out your mobo dimensions:

    ATX 305 mm × 244 mm (12" wide x 9.6")
    mATX: 9.6 inches x 9.6 inches (244 mm x 244 mm).
  2. well , i have the mATX mobo but i find plenty space extra .
    i know that it support mATX but i want to ask if it can support ATX too ? cause i feel the case is quite big? maybe im using an ATX case with mATX mobo ? well i dont really know and im not good in this kind of stuff so im asking.

    Mini tower cases can take only mATX mobos. It's not the space it's the mounting holes for the motherboard standoffs that matter.
