I just got this laptop that has 6 gigs of ram, 2gb nvdia gt 630m and an i5-3317u. So I've been thinking whether playing some graphics-intensive games is gonna fry my processor or affect it in any way...

I mainly play medieval 2 & empire total war...

First, that GT630m is going to take a brunt of the games graphics. So that's what is going to heat up the most during gaming. Second that processor is a decent processor that should do just fine. I doubt anything will happen, just make sure that it's on a solid surface to keep from obstructing any of the venting holes on the body of the laptop and you should be fine.

You will be fine but you should monitor GPU and CPU temps with a program like HWmonitor or something. If your thermals are within reason you can try and OC your GPU a bit to get more performance. Use MSI afterburner.
