Hi was hoping to be able to pick your brains (But not in a weird Zombie way)
I'm wanting to overclock my computer but to be honest I don't know how, I've looked at the guides but was hoping you could tell me exactly what values I need in my BIOS and such for my setup and what my options (GHz wise) would be
This is my computer I built a couple of years ago 2008 I think and I just changed the case for a Gigabyte GZ-G2 plus for the extra fans; installed a closed watercooler as I can't afford to fit a really good one but the core temp is 30 degrees Celcius so I'm happy enough. But anyway I think this Is all you'd need:
CPU: E8500 Intel core 2 Duo
Motherboard: Asus P5Q
RAM: Corsair Dominator 4x1GB (I'm on 32 Bit Vista so it says I have 3.25)
Cooling: Corsair H80
OS:Windows Vista Home Premium 32 Bit
Graphiics: Nvidia GTX260

Thanks for your Time Guys
Athena x

I haven't done much overclocking myself, but I know that we can't just give you values to use. Each instance of a given model of cpu will be a little different from others of the same model. These may only be atomic-scale differences, which won't affect correct behavior at stock speed, but will make significant differences to how overclockable a given unit is. That's why most overclocking guides I've seen say to do it incrementally.
