Agility 3 in SATA II

Last response: in Storage

Hello,

Just installed an Agility III in a SATA II port (Gigabyte P45, Windows 7, 500gb HDD storage) and feel like Im getting speeds under SATA II capability. AHCI is enabled (after I installed Windows, not sure if that matters), firmware is up to date and Trim is enabled.

as ssd benchmark:

Are these speeds normal? I know they're not way off but its not as snappy as I was imagining. Any info is appreciated, thanks!

Advertised AS-SSD specs for your drive are "up to" 195MB/s Read and 130MB/s Write.

You are getting 123% of advertised Reads and 107% of advertised Writes.

Here's the link to the spec sheet of your drive: http://www.ocztechnology.com/res/manuals/OCZ_Agility3_P...

Ah okay. Thanks very much. I looked it up on Newegg, but I didn't scroll down far enough to see the AS SSD speeds.

It doesn't matter then that I enabled AHCI after installing Windows? I read that somewhere but couldn't find anything else to back it up.
