WHICH IS BEST SUITED FOR MY PC:ATI 5570 IGB OR 5670 512MB OR NVIDIA 240GT?
right now i am preferring 240gt because of physx but i am concerned that dx10 and shader model 4 support will make this graphics card outdated.i play games at normal 1280 8 1024 resolution.please suggest the best option for me.also what are chances of my cpu getting bottleneck?
my pc specs:
intel core2duo e4300
intel d945gccr
2048 mb ram
17"lcd monitor

240 is faster than the 5570, and the 5670 is faster than the 240.

Palit 240GT $81 Free shipping.

powercolor 5670 $85 + $7 shipping ($10 MIR).

5670 is well worth the increase in cost over the 240. As for Physx, only a hand full of games use it and only if you play those games would getting a 240 be worth it.

well 5670 needs PCI Express® 2.1 support while i doubt my intel D945GCCR motherboard supports it . also do this 5670 do suport 3d vision like 240gt?

Hey Gamer01 -- It does not need PCI e 2.1 -- all x16 slots are backward compatible.

Have you considered overclocking your processor? It would help a bit.

3d mark score:

5570 comparison:

You do, however need to list your power supply--this will be important for your selection.

Edit: Also--dont spend more for a 1gb card--it wont make any performance difference on a 17' monitor. In fact, most of these cards are probably pretty powerful for your resolution.

Like deadlockedworld said the pcie 2.1 slot is backwards compatible with 1.0 so no problems there.

ATI with its next driver release (10.3) should come out with its counter to Nvidia's 3D Vision. I dont think its going to fully support it with the next release but its the "groundwork" for them to build off of.

The GT 240 isn't strong enough to do physx effects in-game OR 3DVision, so neither one really matters. Likewise, the HD 5670 probably isn't strong enough to do much in DX11, either.

However, the HD 5670 isn't much more and has better performance, so I'd grab it.
