hello
i have been trying to get my ram to run at 1066 but all i get is 800 my specs are
Mobo : GA EP43-UD3L rev 1.0 with F9 BIOS "latest"
CPU : intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 2.50 GHz FSB : 1333 Cashe : 4 MB
RAM : X2 Kingston HyperX 2GB KHX8500AD2/2G, DDR2 1066 (PC2-8500), 240-Pin, Unbuffered, Non-ECC
VGA : ATI HD 5770 1 GB PowerColor

i have tried to set the ram timing as the site said at 7 7 7 20 but all i get is 6 6 6 18

here are some pix from CPU-Z and the yellow pic is of the mobo supported ram list and mine is not on it :D

any ideas ?

More about : ram 1066

7-7-7-20 is slower than 6-6-6-18. DDR2-800 standard is 5-5-5-15 and good stuff runs at 4-4-4-12. The numbers are times in milliseconds and lower is faster.

so what timing should i set it to ???
7 7 7 20 is the timing from the Kingston PDF

9905316-173.A00LF per your CPUz {Kingston 9905316-173.A00LF 2 GB DDR2-800 DDR2 SDRAM (6-6-6-18 @ 400 MHz)}. Therefore, you are attempting a +30% OC of your RAM which I would NOT recommend. Remember DDR = Double Data Rate 400 -> 800MHz speed.

KHX8500AD2/2G ≠ 9905316-173.A00LF ; to VERIFY pull ALL sticks and look at the stickers and post the exact Part-Number.

{So much for my initial Google; I do LOOK at everything} I systematically check and stop once something comes up. I noticed right away that that the KHX8500AD2/2G is not Certified or Tested for this MOBO.

Reference:
KHX8500AD2/2G 9905316-173.A00LF - http://www.valueram.com/datasheets/KHX8500AD2_2G.pdf
DDR2 1066MHz at a latency timing of 7-7-7-20 at +1.85V
to +2.0V. The SPD is programmed to JEDEC standard latency 800Mhz timing of 6-6-6-18 at +1.8V.

GA-EP43-UD3L - http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=2...
1600(O.C.)/1333/1066/800 MHz FSB
4 x 1.8V DDR2 DIMM sockets supporting up to 16 GB of system memory
Dual channel memory architecture
Support for DDR2 1200+/1066/800/667 MHz memory modules

Certified GA - http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=2...
Tested Kingston - http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/configurator_new/models...

I assume that the DDR is installed in either DIMM slots 1/3 or 2/4; either will work.

i have done :
Performance Enhance = Standard
System Memory Multiplyer (SPD) : [2.66D]
DRAM Timing Selectable (SPD) : Manual
CAS Latency Time : 7
tRCD : 7
tRP : 7
tRAS : 20

but i cant seem to find :
Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P.) = Disabled
Memory Frequency : [1066]

with the settings above the system booted normally and i have posted what i have got in CPU-Z and a screen shot of my Bios below

Duh; sorry I'm used to seeing it either way -> Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P.) / / "This item appears only if you install a memory module that supports this feature."

Those features are in M.I.T / Advanced Clock Control hit Enter

im sorry for taking so long to get back on the memory thing :D

i have tried the settings u gave me and i have been looking around the only way i can get to see 1066 on my bios settings is when i play with my System Memory Multiplyer (SPD)
and the cpu freq
i have a freq of 333 x 7.5
when i do get to 1066 the system gose to a reboot loop :S
