It seems as if you are going more for dowloading music and movies hence the 500gb hard drive which is almost as expensive as the cpu and more than the board. You may not want to skimp as much on the board. No PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot which is where all vid cards are now. It may get bogged down with some of your movies anyway since you are only going with onboard video. Im building a "multi-use entertainment" rig now and am finding out all of the sweet spots not to skimp on. For $400 you can go buy a better assembled rig, although the budget is tight get the most bang for your buck or your relative's buck because with that system you will be ready to upgrade in six months max.
