Building a replacement for my TIRED old Dell Dimension 4600 w/6800GT, reusing hard drive and burner. Machine is going to be used for office, Surfing, AV encoding, HTPC and some casual gaming. Prefer to go as cheap as possible under $500

What would you recommend diffrent and why? Thanks!

Yes you are missing a PSU. if your thinking about using that PSU that comes with the case you selected I would only use it if you want your PC to go up in flames.

Here's a much better build.

You are missing a PSU for your build. I would not recommend reusing the PSU out of your Dell. I would look at an Antec, Corsair, or SeaSonic PSU, OCZ is a good option too.

What is your hard drive as newer hard drives provide good improvement to your system. The Seagate 7200.12 500GB is a great PSU at $55.

What OS are you planning on using?? If you don't plan on using Win7, the 5770 is overkill and I would go with the ATI 4850 for similar performance at a cheaper price.

That case comes with a 480W. The reviews on it are fairly good. I know I may end up needing a better power supply. yes Windows 7. The hard drive is a 2 TB HITACHI Deskstar (had it a few months).

If the system is more designed for gaming, the Rana will perform slightly better due to the higher clock speeds and the 4th core of the Propus won't make up the difference in performance.

Whatever you do DONT buy that POS psu with that case. I am beginning to lose count as to how many times I have to tell people to buy quality PSU's...

PSU = #1 MOST important part in your PC.

*EDIT* By the way that 480W PSU will not have enough amps to power the 5770. and it has only one Sata connector so you won't have enough connections for both your sata hard drive and your sata DVD

Here's the PSU in that case. Epic fail.
