Headset mic not working since I put in a new CPU

I put in a new CPU this evening (Q6600), and got everything set up, when I tried to start Teamspeak, I got a message saying that my Realtek High Definition Audio driver stopped working and now my mic isn't working on my headset. I can hear things just fine but nobody can hear me.

I'm using Windows 7 btw.

Did you re-check the connections after you replaced the CPU, you may have bumped or loosened the connectors?

The CPU and headset are not related. The headset plug is usually connected to the mobo. As treefrog07 suggested, re-check your connections and your headset. Tryout the headset in a different computer in order to eliminate that as the problem.

If the headset turns out ok, then unplug and plug back in the connector that goes from the front panel to the mobo.

Problem is fixed now. It took about an hour to figure out what the deal was.
