hi,my rig is
AMD Athlon 64 3800
GA-M61SME-S2 (rev. 2.x)
2GB DDR2 Ram
EVGA 9600GT 512mb

i think the cpu is bottlenecking the system coz i only get arround 20-30 fps in call of duty 4 at 1024x768 with all options on..and sometime it drops to 12 -20 fps..:(  :(

im thinking to buy intel motherboard and a processor

GA-G31M-S2L mobo with E5400 or E7400

going for E7400 will give high fps? or its better to get E5400 considering other parts i hv (2GB ram and 9600GT) ??

(im from Sri Lanka and here there are few AMD processors and mobo's and they are really expensive now)

More about : upgrading cpu mobo

The E7400 will be faster than the E5400, and I suggest you get that if possible instead. The E7400 should work with the GIGABYTE GA-G31M-S2L motherboard, and your old DDR2 RAM as well.

If possible I'd get the Pentium E6500, if it's priced at around $100, otherwise go for the E7400.
