Forum Graphics & Displays : TV Tuner Cards Best TV Tuner Cards for Machine with Slower CPU

I have a PCTV Pro Stick USB TV tuner that doesn't work so well on my machines that have Athlon XP 2600+ and XP 2800+ cpus.

Are there cards or dongles that will decode the digital TV stream for me so I can watch TV with less load on my CPU?

Looking around I see descriptions of some Hauppage cards that have built-in Mpeg-2 encoding but I don't see anything about decoding.

What's a good card or dongle to get?

Got a spare expansion slot, if you do try installing anything that you can find. The stick you describe doesn't exist any more, apparently your company sold out to Hauppage. I'm not in the market for TV tuners but any should offload some work from the Athlon XP.
