I just installed an In-Win 7in1 CR i500 USB Internal Card Reader in two PC's
running XP Pro (Sp1 in one and Sp2 in the other) both with ASUS motherboards.
Out of 8 CF cards of different capacities only two will read and write (2 out
of 8 card reader . I've looked at BIOS settings for USB, reinstalled drivers,
tried a USB patch for XP, and I can't get the other cards to read. The machine
knows somethings plugged in, just doesn't recognize it. I've tried to contact
In-Win via email, but no response there and they really have no online support
or info. The readers had good reviews, but were cheap enough that I don't
really want to run up a long distance phone bill cross country to In-Win. The
company I got them from has a restocking charge and I would have to pay
shipping. Again probably not worth returning for what I paid.
So I'm looking for others that may have installed this reader to see if you've
had similiar problems and were you able to get it working properly.
Thanks,
Mark....

Sounds like a problem because you didn't go with a name brand. You tend to
get what you pay for. I have had good luck with Sandisk readers and Belkin
readers.
