Hi all!
A simple question for your skill, I hope :p

I'm using an overclocked c2d E8400 at 3.8ghz with 2gb ram Kingston HyperX KHX6400D2/1G
with all settings on "auto" and works perfectly.

I would like to buy 2 more Gb, looking to the future, or simply for changing Win XP 32bit!
I can buy Corsair CM2X1024-6400C4DHX (XMS2-6400 800mhz 4-4-4-12 2.1V ver.5.1) for 20 euros..

Price is good, but can I use them together? or can I have problems with Voltage ore something else?

Thank you in advance!

You can loosen the latency on the Corsair RAM to 5-5-5-15 and lower the voltage to 2.0v to match the speed and voltage of the Kingston HyperX

However if you can source another 2GB of your current, or the the RAM you are purchasing, it would be a safer option, and usually results in increased performance.

Ok Ty! Do you think that "auto" settings for ram in the bios, will use correct voltage and latency for this mix?
(I can find my ram only new 1gb at 25eur :( )

The motherboard will normally slow down the faster RAM and change the timings for you. However you will receive an error message if this does not happen.

I suggest you take note of the settings I have provided just incase this doesn't happen, so you can alter the settings manually.
