Hello,
I have a spectrum analyzer equipment whose firmware can only be upgraded through floppy disk. The equipment is running on Windows NT OS. So i when i copy the data files from my laptop runnig Win XP3 and then insert it to the equipment floppy drive, it says that the floppy disk is not formatted. i tried with many new floppies but same message.

Now i formatted the floppy in the equipment itself and then tried to read it on my laptop but the same message.

So, floppy disk formatted and written in XP is not readable in NT and vice versa.

Please provide any solution.

This is also why floppies are no longer in use. If the read/write head from one drive to the other is slightly out of alignment you get this exact result - disks that are only readable on the system they were created on.

I'd try formatting the floppy as fat32 or fat16 since most legacy systems can read these formats.
