Hey guys, i was wondering which is better for high end gaming, AMD or Intel?

this is the processor i have picked out at the moment:

and this is the RAM:

now all of this will cost me exactly $409.98... is there better components i could be getting for gaming that are around that price?

What are the rest of your system components? Especially the video card? Unless you have something higher than a 5870, there is no point in spending more than $200 on a CPU.

What is your budget? Are you going to be overclocking? What games are you playing? etc. Some titles are CPU limited far before they're GPU limited, and vice versa. We need more information.

If you have a 1920x1080 resolution, the HD5770 is a fine choice. As for the CPU, an AMD CPU + 7XX or 8XX series motherboard is fine. The RAM choice is fine.

The i6 650+motherboard combo you posted is fine if you have no plans of crossfiring in the future.

I have MSI 5770 Hawk on MSI p55-gd65, with i5 750 and only 2gb DDR3 (everything on stock speed) and now i play STALKER Call of Pripyat with 1920-1080 in all max settings without any problem (my first game with this sys).. GPU temp is idle 35 and after gaming never go above 70C.

I hope this will help.
