M4a785-m ram problems

Okay, i just bought 4 sticks of 2gb 1066 mhz ram. one slot doesnt work. jsut says i have 6 not 8. is it all of these same motherboards cause i have seen the same thing on newegg. but im not sure. anyone got advice?

Welcome, Newcomer. If you want to be certain the problem is in the mobo, you can move the sticks around, or boot with one at a time. Unfortunately, if the DIMM slot is inoperative, the only recommendation is to RMA or use 3/4 of your RAM.
