Dear Forum,
I've just put together a new system. Specs read:
Case COOLERMASTER COSMOS S FULL TOWER PC COMPUTER CASE
CPU SUPERCHARGED 975+ 4.3GHz Intel Core i7 Extreme 7.3+GT
CPU Heat Sink COOLER MASTER RR-B2P-UV10-GP V10 Heat Sink
Motherboard Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7, X58
Hard-drives OCZ Vertex Series SATAII 2.5" SSD 60GB
Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA2
Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA2
RAM Corsair 12GB DDR3 Intel Core i7 1333MHz HX3X12G1333C9
Video Card HIS HD 5970 2GB (2x256bit) GDDR5 PCIe DirectX 11
Power Supply Corsair HX 1000W PSU
Blu-Ray Burner LG Blu-Ray burner BH10LS30, 10x,
Network Card Golden Arrow Killer Xeno Pro PCI-E NIC card
OS Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit Full Version Sealed
Fans 3 X Noctua NF-P12 120mm Fans
Fans Akasa AK-FN057 APACHE 12cm fan
Fan Controller Zalman Fan Controller
Gaming Mouse Microsoft Sidewinder X8
Thermal Paste Arctic Fox

I thought I'd everything sorted. The case power button lit up to red and I pushed it to power up and....nothing. Well, nearly nothing, a couple of fans connected directly to PSU spun about twice and then died. Inside the case, the blue 'Power' light on the board is lit up, as is the CMOS light also. There are two LED's beside RAM, one green and one yellow also lit up but nothing else. I'd appreciate any ideas.
Regards

PS. Speaker is connected to header but hasn't made a sound yet.

Run through EVERYTHING in the "READ before posting about boot problems" sticky (link in my signature. Make sure you do ALL steps. DO NOT SKIP any of them, as they all test something. DO NOT JUST READ the steps, actually do them. After doing EVERY step, come back with any changes.

The first thing you need to check is what those lights (green, yellow) mean. Read the motherboard's manual.

Also, that speaker won't make any noise if it's the regular audio header. You need a special case speaker to hear the beep codes. Most cases don't come with one, but they only cost a couple of bucks.

Thanks Madadmiral, went through steps, i stick of RAM, took out video card etc, managed to get her moving. Replaced Card (5970) and nothing again. I changed the power connectors from the PCI-E PSU attached to extra cables that came with it. She whirred into life. Everything seems to be moving fine except, have connected a monitor (had to use the adapter that came with 5970 to take VGA) and getting nowhere. 'No signal input' coming up despite it being connected to machine. I've tried hitting 'Delet' as per manuals instructions to get to BIOS but to no avail.
Thanks again
