I am considering buying an IBM T30.

Any comments on its good and bad points?

Bad point: it has a Pentium 4-M (= gets hotter than comparable
Pentium-M machines). Unless the price difference is really
significant, I'd get a T4x. There has been already three iterations of
the T4x (current model is T42), so you should be able to find T40 at
attractive prices. The T4x is also slightly slimmer and lighter.

Cheers, Dominique

Overall, a very good laptop, although mine has had the motherboard
replaced twice. Good thing I paid for IBM at home service- it's great.
