Eyefinity active adapter dp/dvi-d

Ok i bought the active displayport to dvi-d adapter needed for eyefinity to work. Problem is i have VGA input screens. Will a adapter work? the item i bought looks like this ![]()
from what i been gathering is the signal wont convert or adapt to the vga monitor Can anyone shed some light on this? Thank you everyone
