I'm getting the above mentioned error with just this one Windows update. I have done a search for a fix and have followed a couple instructions, but no luck. Can someone within this great Tom's Hardware community help out? Thanks!
Open your browser and go to http://www.google.com/chrome
Download Chrome and set it as your default browser.
Open "Control Panel" --> "Remove Programs" --> "Add or remove Windows features"
Find Internet Explorer and untick it's box.
Save the changes and restart your computer.
With the above things out of the way, the update should dissapear and you'll get rid of Internet Explorer for good.
This little guide may be skewed and does not represent an objective solution to your problem, as I am a Google Chrome user and hate IE
