Is this my CPU's fault

i got the following specs
amd phenom 9650 quad-core 2.30 4m
2gb 800
nvidia GTX260
in some games when i open the task manager i find that most of the game
are showing 25(in the CPU column) Why
is it because these games support one core only?
or my cpu cache is low
or somthing else

and will i experience the same problem with this specs

core i5-750 2.66g 8m
p55A-UD4
2g ddr3 1600 kingmax
gtx260
psu 800w
and please if there is any thing with the new specs please please tell me

i game alot, and its the same anywhere you go, on machines that have more than two cores the cpu usage usually levels off at like 50%, 1 or 2 games will use more, but why are you sticking to two gigs of ram, for a gtx 260 4gigs of ram is usually the recommendation for a gamer, the 9650 is very old tech, and if possible you should simply upgrade to a phenom II, the i5 will not utilize 100% in a game, but it should still give you a nice boost in fps at higher resolutions....., but it still wont matter with the i5 is limited to two gigs of ram>>>

Did you mean your processor not doing multicores?

To try that, just use winrar to compress a big file, it uses around 55~65% CPU usage on my i5-750.
My i5-750 eat winrar alive

the cpu is not really bad, its just not really good at the same time, i would still suggest you upgrade to athlon II x4 630 or something, what kind of board do you have?

so the dealars is pricing as much as they want and they do bring very little choices

the way i see it from your description is that your system is more than enough. you dont need to buy something new. this task manage showing 20% during games mean that the game isnt using more than 20% of your cpu. its totally normal. apart from this are u experiencing any lags?

sux that you dont have visa, and sux that you dont have some better amd choices, but you mst be using a mainboard with the 9650, what model is it, use this

Pity you, got to buy things over-price.
Your current CPU is very fine, I highly recommend you avoid to buy another CPU for now.
