Friends Blu Ray drive was playing movies fine and stopped working. I'm trying to figure out if it's bad hardware or some system / software problem. Helped him a while back by installing new power supply, OEM blu ray drive and HDCP compliant video card. Cyberlink software was playing blu rays fine until it suddenly stopped reading them, but will read DVDs. A quick breakdown of the system:

Operating System
MS Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1
CPU
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ 35 °C
Brisbane 65nm Technology
RAM
2.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 326MHz (5-5-5-15)
Motherboard
ECS Nettle2 (Socket M2 ) 40 °C
Graphics
HP 2310 (1920x1080@60Hz)
HP 2310 (1920x1080@60Hz)
ATI Radeon HD 5450 (ASUStek Computer Inc) 61 °C
Hard Drives
625GB Western Digital WDC WD64 SCSI Disk Device (RAID)
Optical Drives
ASUS BR-04B2T SCSI CdRom Device
HL-DT-ST DVD-RW GSA-H60L SCSI CdRom Device
Audio
Realtek High Definition Audio

Furthermore, his event viewer is full of things like this:

* An error was detected on device \Device\CdRom1 during a paging operation.
* The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk1\DR1.
* The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk6\DR6.

We tried multiple Blu ray disks that were working before and now no longer will be read by the system. Tried reinstalling the Cyberlink software but ran into errors telling us the activation key is incorrect even though it was legitimately purchased and connected to the internet. Anyway, that's alot of information but does anyone have any advice on this problem?
