You cannot in general upgrade the gfx card in a laptop.

Sometimes the OEM can upgrade it if you send it back, however this costs a arm, leg, and a head.

yea, if you want a new GPU in your laptop you likely need a new laptop all together. Its just how it works in most cases. Most laptops the GPU is soldiered right to the motherboard, which means a new GPU requires a new motherboard. Sorry, but what you have is what you are gonna have in there.

This is one of the resons that gaming laptops are fail. (Not that you'rs is, but in general). They have small 17" screens, cost thousands of dolars, and have bad preformance, and zero upgrade path/reusable parts.

Some laptops use standard(?) connectors like MXM and can be upgraded, but only if it already has some sort of dedicated GPU.
This will still cost the arm and leg, but you may be able to keep the head.

I don't know nVidia still makes MXM GPU's.
