Motherboard problem

Hello,i have asus crosshair iv formula, cpu phenom ii x2 555 be, 4 gb ram OCZ 1600 TIMING 7-7-7-24 1,65 VOLT/vga XFX HD 5850 BE HD WD 640 GB SATA III.my problem is my vga work at x8 not at x16 i use the 1 slot of the mobo and i dont now wy?i have update to the latest bios and catalest, ady help?

What did you use to check speed of your PCIe connection ? GPU-Z or else ?

Also check the motherboard manual to see if your PCIe shares bandwidth with another PCIe or PCI slot or else in which you have installed a card or device.

i use the gpu-z and AMD OVER DRIVE

i use the the 1 slot of the mobo.i sent e mail to asus suport and they dont now wy lol

I also suggest you to check the BIOS settings to see if you can assign bandwidth or link width there.

Propably there is a combatible problem. Please try to install another VGA to test if the slot pci-e work fine .thats the answer from the asus
