BIOS on Laptop... Forgot Password

Forgot password to the Bios on my laptop.
Is there any way that i can reset the password?

If it is a Dell then contact Dell; the Password cannot be cleared by pulling the battery and CMOS battery; there's a PSWD BIOS chip that cannot be defeated. This is 'typically' a red-flag for a stolen PC.

My sister's laptop's cofig is:

Phoenix Bios
Intel celeron M
256 ram

I was hoping that i could reset it dir using my desktop using direct cable connection LAN
using some kind of windows or dos utility

Either contact the OEM for the BIOS Password or 'try' -> pulling the battery and CMOS battery ~ 15 minutes. There are 'some' hacking tools but 'I' will NEVER post them.

Here's How:
1.Click on Start and then Control Panel.

2.Click on the User Accounts link.

Note: If you're viewing the Classic View of Control Panel, double-click on the User Accounts icon.

3.In the pick an account to change area of the User Accounts window, click on your Windows XP user name.

4.Choose the Change my password link.

5.In the first text box, enter your existing password.

6.In the next two text boxes, enter the password you would like to start using.

Entering the password twice helps to make sure that you typed your new password correctly.

7.Click the Change Password button to confirm your changes.

8.You can now close the User Accounts window and the Control Panel window.

Sorry, Tom's Hardware forum doesn't provide any guide to bypass password protection.

We cannot verify if you are the legit owner.
