Do Intel CPUs still have CISC decode / encode logic?

Hi folks,

Obscure question here: do Intel CPUs still have the legacy CISC decode/encode logic built in?

This question applies to Intel's Atom and cell phone chips as well as desktop and laptop. I'm still curious to know if it is present, as back in the day it was thought to be a significant factor in power consumption.

legacy?? all X86 processors are CISC processors. Are you asking if they still encode the data to maximize the code density - yes.

Cell phone chips I dont know much about but if they are x86 then yes.
