Hello,im building my first gaming computer and i know this is going to sound like a huge chore but i was wondering if all these parts are compatible. Oh and if you have any recommendations on any part switching let me know. I have a budget around $1500 and probably going to buy all the parts from newegg.

ok so proximon you requested more information. This computer is mainly for gaming. I decided to use the stock cooler. Im still researching on the how-to build a computer. I plan to start building in early may. Oh and tecmo34 i wil take your advice on the Seagate 7200.12 1TB drive. oh and last question...should i get a bigger case instead of the mid tower?

i also switched the graphics card from the gigabyte to the SAPPHIRE 100282-3SR Radeon HD 5850 (Cypress Pro) 1GB 256-bit DDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video

i hope this is compatable

Quick Review:
1) You don't need the special thermal compound when using a stock cooler. If you are planning on overclocking, I would pick up the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus heat sink.

2) I would use the Seagate 7200.12 1TB drive at the same price as the WD Black. The Seagate will be faster as it is based off of two 500GB platters versus three 250GB platters.

Your build is fine
I disagree with tecmo34 about changing your HD. the one you chose is great and has a 5 year warranty. However I do agree that buying thermal compound is useless if using a stock cooler. If you end up buying the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus heatsink/cooler, I would suggest getting Arctic Silver 5 instead of the one you chose.

I would also suggest switching your graphics card from Gigabyte to either XFX (which has lifetime warranties on their products) or Sapphire who makes extremely reliable cards.

Tecmo34 is right. The Seagate drive is condiderably faster due to twice the platter density. Why you would disagree with getting a much faster drive for the same price is escaping me.

MX-2 cools as well or better than Arctic Silver 5, doesn't have a cure time, and isn't conductive.

OP - Your build looks great once you add in Tecmo34's suggestions.
