Guys if this is a repost i am really sorry but i need your help... I currently have a very unbalanced comp viz
Intel core 2 quad q6600
Msi g31 board
4gb ram
500gb hdd
Yamaha sound card
Nvidia 8200gs
Cooler master cm690 case
As you can see some parts are old and some are newer comparatively... This is because i have been upgrading my comp on a 6 month basis..
Now i plan on upgrading my gfx card as it is dying..
So i want to buy a dx11 graphics card and have a budget of 350$... But i also have a 400w psu... So kindly advice me on the best possible graphics card for my budget... I have a 32in hdtv and plan on future proofing for another 3 years... My pals tell me to go for the 5850 where as others on the net tell me to wait for gtx 470 with a price tag of 300$... They also say that it will be accompanied with a price drop of the ati 5870... Please post your suggestions ask any help is sincerely appreciated...!

The 5850 needs at least a 450W PSU, however if you have a quality brand you may be able to get by on 400W. Unless you would like to upgrade your PSU if it is not a good brand, the card to get with the 400W would be the 5770. 32" HDTV sounds as if its a 720p TV, if it is the 5770 will work wonderfully with it. However for a 3 year future proof, you need a 450W PSU and Either a 5850 or a 5870.

I'd say, this is a rare case where a Radeon 5830 + an Antec 500w fits perfectly on your budget.

This is the PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

I've found a 5850 that goes a little over your USD$350 with that PSU, but I'd recomend it over the 5830: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

This a 5830 wich fits on your budget: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Hope it helps you decide, but wait for other replies 8)

The GTX 470 will supposedly be $500 so that's right out.
Definitely get the HD5850 over the HD5830. It's a much better card and a great deal while the HD5830 is rather overpriced. If your 400w PSU is a good one it may actually be able to handle the card but I would recommend something better so you can OC the HD5850(it OCs exceedingly well, up to 50%.)
This combo is a nice deal;

It is $15 more than your budget initially but there's a $20 rebate to make up for it. That PSU should even be able to handle 2 HD5850s if you want to crossfire at some point.
